AUTOWORLD 1971 Plymouth Duster 340 in Purple with Black hood and roof.
The Duster was introduced in 1970 as a 2-door semi-fastback version of the Plymouth Valiant to compete with the Chevy® Nova™ and the Ford Maverick. It was a huge success for Plymouth. In 1971, the Plymouth Duster lost its affiliation with the Vailant brand name and became its own separate brand. This die-cast replica features many of the popular options available in 1971. The blacked out hood was available in other model years, but only 1971 could have the factory installed 340 Wedge hood decal. Behind the “shark tooth” grill, a distinct characteristic of 1971 and 1972, lives the optional 340 cu. in. 4bbl 5.6L V8
